HELD AT ST PATRICK’S CHURCH, IJEBU-OWO

The sermon at the opening service for the 2nd session of the 13th synod,by The Most Revd Dr Michael Olushina Fape, Lord Bishop of Remo diocese and The Archbishop of Lagos Ecclesiastical Province
On 18th September,2020.

Theme: As for me and my house…
Text,:Josh:24:15
Joshua worked with the inspiration of the Lord because of the meaning of his name
S
*Salvation*
He began his ministerial work where Moses stopped
Moses saw the land of Canaan but did not get there because of distraction and annoyance (we must be careful)

God loves us and so He will always call people back to salvation
Our God is a God of possibilities. Num.14:6_9
The work was easy for him because of 3 vital reasons which eventually assisted him

1: Joshua had a living faith and he was in a good relationship with God.
2: He could vouch for his household because he knew the Lord he’s serving. He was as well concerned with the lives of other Israelites; hence he prepared for them. 2Tim:1;12

3: Joshua was not making a statement for the present generation alone then but that of the Future as well. He made a commitment statement
Ref, 2Tim1:5, PS 16:6. Okun tita bo sodo mi…Emi ni ogun rere.
The big question for our generation👇🏼
Are we preparing for the generation coming behind us ,who are to replace us in the church tomorrow?
Resolution👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼

Let the church grow
Let there not be Ichabod within the church any longer
Let’s be obedient
Judges2
Is:1;19.
Our salvation and that of our household is Paramount.

Thanks and be blessed.
