As a Spiritual Father, whose ambition and calling is to care for souls, having seen the need of warning and how far ambition could go if not treated in simplicity call to the notice of the People of Ondo State, Ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in Ondo State, politicians have been charged to desist from shedding blood for their Political ambition.

The Diocesan Bishop of Diocese of Owo Anglican Communion and the President of the Synod Rt. Revd Stephen Ayodeji Fagbemi PhD (kent)gave the charge at the 13th Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Owo in Ondo State with the theme “but for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord”, held at Saint Patrick’s Anglican Church, Ijebu-Owo while dignitaries including the Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by his Chief of Staff, Olugbenga Ale; Minister of State for Niger Delta, Senator Tayo Alasoadura, royal fathers, clergymen, women leaders, Chairman of Owo Local Government, Samuel Adegbegi among others.

He also berated the current APC government at the national level for the poor handling of security, and the recent hike in electricity bill and fuel price, calling on political parties in Ondo State to call their supporters to order ahead of the election.
Dr Fagbemi charged “Christians to re-dedicate their lives to the Lord and server him with all their household”.
Fagbemi said this year’s synod is a unique one that comes at the world is recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic and a critical time when people of Ondo state are heading for the October 10 governorship election.

Synod is an annual event in which Bishops give a Charge to members of their flock to guide them all through the year before another Synod.
He charged Christian faithful on “commitment to the service of God and training children on Godliness”.

In his Goodwill message, the Governor of Ondo state, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu represented by his Chief of Staff, Olugbenga Ale congratulates the Diocese of Owo church of Anglican Communion for a successful synod charging them to be favent in their prayers ahead of the governorship election.

Also, the Minister of state for Niger Delta Affairs, Senator Tayo Alasoadura admonished Christians to continually give their best in service to God.

The Commissioner representing Ondo State in the Federal Characters Commission, who is the Chief host of the synod, Lawrence Omosanya said it was a singular honour for him and his family to host the event.
